Meet Adira, a.k.a. Addy, whose name means “strong one,” truly lives up to it. This approx. 8-9-year-old Pug girl was rescued from a flooded wash after a brave woman saved her from drowning. Despite everything she’s been through, Addy’s spirit shines bright.
When she first came to us, she was struggling with severe untreated allergies, double ear infections, and was a bit underweight. But with love, vet care, medicated baths, and healthy food, she’s already made wonderful improvements — and her personality is blooming more each day! Addy is as sweet as they come. She loves her foster family (both the humans and the dogs!) and is discovering the joy of toys again. She’s a good little eater and gets adorably vocal — sounding like a cute gremlin — when she knows food or treats are on the way. She’s doing well with potty breaks outside (though has had a few accidents, as her foster home doesn’t have a doggie door) and sleeps soundly in bed on her own pillow next to her foster mommy's head.
Addy isn’t quite ready for adoption yet — she’s still healing and will need a little more time before she can find her forever home. But one thing is for sure: when she’s ready, she’s going to make a family very, very lucky. ❤️
