An Adoption Application must be completed before you can be considered as an adoptive home for any pug. There are no exceptions.
Before submitting your application, please review the following information on our application process. It will answer most questions you have about what's involved in adopting a pug from AZ Pug Life Rescue.
We are all volunteers who are very busy rescuing, caring for, and transporting rescued pugs. We DO NOT have a central facility where you can visit our rescued pugs. All of our dogs live in foster homes, where they are observed, evaluated, and cared for until we find their ideal adoptive family. Our fosters have an indication to their temperament as they are exposed to different situations, and in some cases, we have done behavioral rehabilitation or treated medical situations for you. You will always be informed about what we have done and if any continued care is needed.
Please understand that we spend much more on medical bills than we recover in adoption fees for most of the pugs we rescue. All of our rescued pugs are spayed / neutered, up-to-date on routine vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies Vaccinations), microchipped, and tested for the three major tick-borne diseases (Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis, Lyme disease), and Heartworm prior to placement. Although we do provide the medical treatment and testing listed above, please remember that we have no way of guaranteeing that they will not have medical issues in the future.
